A public welfare job fair took place at the Nantong Human Resources Market in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Feb 24, attracting 3,500 onsite job seekers.
The event featured 158 employers offering a total of 4,597 job positions, with an average monthly salary of 7,066 yuan ($1,032.73). A dedicated Tongzhou Bay Enterprise Recruitment Zone highlighted the area's key industries, offering a range of diverse employment opportunities.
Among the attendees was Sun, a university graduate and job seeker who works in Zhenjiang and is eager to return to his hometown of Nantong. "I researched today's companies and positions beforehand, and there are quite a few that match my skills," he said. After an in-depth discussion with a human resources representative from Jiangsu Masada Heavy Industries, Sun realized that their mechanical engineering position closely aligns with his previous experience, making for an easy transition.
"We are primarily recruiting for computer numerical control lathe operators, heat treatment workers, and other frontline roles," explained Lu, the HR manager at Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries. He noted that the company provides comprehensive social insurance, room and board, along with experienced mentors to train new hires.
In addition to the 3,500 attendees at the venue, the job fair attracted 104,000 viewers via its live stream. The event collected a total of 2,039 resumes from both online and offline participants, resulting in 745 preliminary employment agreements, marking a significant success.
