Nantong Xingdong International Airport transported a total of 125,000 passengers during the nine-day 2026 Spring Festival holiday, which concluded on Feb 23.

The airport's average daily passenger throughput reached 13,900, a 16.88 percent increase from the previous year. On the sixth day of the Chinese New Year (Feb 22), the airport set a new record by handling 16,877 passengers in a single day.

During the holiday period, the average load factor for departing flights was 88.42 percent, reflecting a 4.21 percent increase year-on-year. The most popular domestic destinations were Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, and Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province.

To enhance passenger services during the holiday and accommodate diverse travel needs, Nantong airport optimized its flight routes and schedules. New routes such as Nantong-Guiyang-Haikou were introduced, while frequencies on routes like Nantong-Guiyang and Nantong-Taiyuan were increased. The Nantong-Guilin route was also resumed.

Security and ground service departments launched volunteer services, and special service counters were established to provide one-stop assistance for first-time fliers, late-arriving passengers, travelers with special needs, military personnel, and fire and rescue workers.
