After seven years of research and development, Jiangsu Shenyuan New Materials, based in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong county of Nantong, Jiangsu province, has made breakthroughs in producing high-end specialty nylon resins and fibers.

These materials are essential for aerospace, defense, and medical devices.

The company, incubated by a Shanghai-based university, will start pilot trials at Yangkou Port Chemical Pilot Base in Rudong county, Jiangsu province, this November.

The research and development team overcame key challenges in stability control, performance customization, and industrial adaptation. Their products now meet international advanced standards and have passed validation with major domestic clients.

From theoretical design to pilot scaling, the team has completed the full R&D chain after seven years of dedicated efforts, winning 15 national and provincial awards along the way.

The company benefits from Yangkou Port's proximity to Shanghai and its role in the Yangtze Delta innovation network. The location offers strong logistics, ample industrial land, and full administrative support for future scale-up.

As Rudong's first "grant-equity hybrid" project backed by the Yangtze Delta National Innovation Center, Shenyuan retains team control while accessing public funds and later private investment.

With pilot output of 2,000 metric tons per year and planned mass production of 30,000 tons when put into operation, it stands as a clear example of how Yangkou Port turns lab breakthroughs into an industrial reality and is filling a gap in China's specialty nylon supply.
