Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, generated 10.29 billion kWh of green power between January and the end of October, the highest in the county's history.
During this period, the grid-connection volume generated by wind power stations and photovoltaic power stations exceeded the total electricity consumption of the county by 4.11 billion kWh.
Compared with thermal power, the green electricity generated in the first 10 months resulted in the reduction of 3.61 million metric tons of standard coal, 2.94 tons of water, 12.6 million tons of carbon dioxide, and 360,200 tons of sulfur dioxide.
Green power is expected to aid the energy transformation and advance green and low-carbon development in Rudong and Jiangsu.
