A Lantern Festival carnival is held in Yangkou Port, Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu province, from Feb 28 to March 3, offering an immersive festive experience for locals and tourists.
This grand event, centered on the festival's traditional folk customs, also integrates local marine culture, intangible cultural heritage skills, and local charm.
The main venue has set up multiple functional areas such as themed check-in area, food area, and market area, adding fun to the festive vibes.
From 9 am to 9 pm, there are uninterrupted performances of singing, dancing, and acrobatics. Every night, there are also three rounds of light and shadow shows that light up the night sky.
In the colorful market, inheritors of Rudong's intangible cultural heritage items, such as rattan weaving and dough sculpture, demonstrate their skills on site, attracting many tourists who also want to try their hand at them.
"The lanterns are beautiful, and the performances are also great. I had a great time," said Qian Jiayao, a boy who watched the performances.
