A slew of new projects in Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province have been aiding efforts to boost high-quality development in rural areas.

For example, the second phase of the Youjia Sinochem Modern Crop Protection Industrial Park project was recently put into operation.

The 960-million-yuan ($134.14 million) project will promote the development of the plant-incorporated protectants sectors and increase local agricultural output.

The construction of the fourth phase of the Tongwei power station is also underway in Rudong.

The 250-million-yuan project involves the application of solar photovoltaic power in the aquaculture industry and the creation of an unmanned aquaculture model.

Rudong has also introduced key projects in the field of agricultural product processing to boost the transformation of the local food industry.

The Nantong Huge food additives production plant, which is located in the Rudong Economic Development Zone, is expected to produce 30 metric tons of natto extractive and 5,000 tons of fodder every year. The project is expected to boost the profits of soybeans.
