The first phase of the 140th China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair, concluded on Oct 19 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, with Nantong manufacturers drawing strong interest from international buyers with their smart, energy-efficient and high-end products.
A total of 138 Nantong companies occupied 212 booths in the advanced manufacturing section, showcasing the city's manufacturing capabilities and export potential.
Exhibitors reported strong interest from buyers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Purchasing patterns are also shifting, with smaller trial orders and more frequent restocking increasingly replacing large, long-term commitments. While competition has squeezed margins for conventional products, innovative technologies and greener manufacturing solutions are helping companies command higher prices.
Several Nantong products stood out at the fair. View Electronic attracted buyers from the Middle East and Central Asia with its large-screen premium smart televisions, backed by strong performance and international certifications. Yongsheng Steel Wire showcased low-carbon wire products, while Wanjin Machinery presented energy-efficient bottle-blowing equipment. Both drew inquiries for their environmental benefits.
NVision Electrical Appliance developed compact, portable cleaning machines tailored to the living conditions and climate requirements in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, generating interest in customized orders.
The city will continue supporting exports of innovative, eco-friendly products, strengthening overseas service networks and advancing digital transformation to promote sustainable growth in foreign trade.
