Journalist organization heads and media representatives from 12 countries and regions began the "Global Southern Countries' Journalists Explore China" reporting tour in Nantong on Oct 13.

The delegation visited local agricultural research institutions and smart farms at the Nantong Urban Agriculture Park in Chongchuan district. They learned about seed research, saw drones used for field inspections, toured unmanned farms and viewed an intelligent grain-drying line, gaining a full picture of the grain supply chain from breeding to processing.

Mendes Mutenda, director of Information and Communication at the Information Office of Mozambique (GABINFO), said modern agricultural technology is the key to raising production. He added that he would take Nantong's experience in agricultural planning, seed breeding and the development of industry, manufacturing and tourism back home.

The delegation also took a night boat tour on the Haohe River, which a delegate from the Thai-Chinese Journalists Association described as an impressive blend of technology and culture.

The next day, the delegation visited the dock of COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore, where a floating production storage and offloading vessel under construction drew attention.

Gordon Luandrow, vice-president of the Namibia Media Professionals Union, said he hoped Namibia could learn more from China in terms of skills training and experience sharing.
