A delegation of 34 companies from Nantong launched a dedicated trade promotion event in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Aug 20, exhibiting more than 1,000 products tailored for Central Asian markets.

The "Nantong Export Brands" Central Asia special event, held at the Atakent International Exhibition Center, was staged alongside the Central Asia Import and Export Expo and the 2026 Jiangsu Import and Export Commodities Exhibition. The exhibition covered 6,000 square meters and featured 300 standard booths, while the Nantong delegation occupied a dedicated zone with 35 booths.

The showcased product lineup reflected Nantong's industrial strengths, with textiles, power tools and small household appliances taking center stage, all selected for their appeal to local buyers.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the Nantong delegation engaged with local business associations, toured wholesale markets and visited overseas warehouses to assess distribution channels and logistics infrastructure.

The event, the 35th such overseas promotion under a six-year initiative, underscores Nantong's strategic interest in Central Asia, which is backed by physical connectivity on a growing scale.

Between January and July this year, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan rail-road freight service, which starts from Nantong, handled 1,153 twenty-foot equivalent units of cargo worth 410 million yuan ($60.98 million), creating a direct logistics corridor to the region for manufacturers in Nantong and the broader Yangtze River Delta region.
