The events ran through Aug 16, bringing together more than 1,500 athletes from 168 universities across China and representing the highest level of competitive wushu nationwide. They also contributed to preparations for the 2027 Asian University Wushu Championships.

The competitions combined traditional Chinese culture with intense athletic rivalry. On the mats, athletes gave their all with clear energy and resolve. Their quick strikes and counters revealed the tactical depth and fighting spirit that have always defined wushu.

Throughout the competitions, visiting students and faculty took time to explore Nantong, immersing themselves in its local culture, history and urban development. The championships have also enhanced the city's nationwide reputation and further integrated its sports, culture and tourism sectors.

The host district, Chongchuan, has a martial arts heritage that stretches back a thousand years and has been home to multiple world champions, including Olympic gold medalists. The district also boasts well-equipped fitness facilities and hosts regular community sports events.
