Tongzhou shipbuilder delivers 100th bulk carrier

Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering in Tongzhou district celebrated a major milestone with the naming and delivery of the "Yuanhai Songtao", its 100th Ultramax bulk carrier, on July 3.

The "Yuanhai Songtao" is a next-generation, independently developed vessel, whose emission indicators fully meets the latest environmental regulations set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The ship will be registered in China's Yangpu Port, supporting the Hainan Free Trade Port's shipping industry.

Over the years, Xiangyu Shipbuilding has earnedrecognition from shipowners worldwide. To date, the company has received a total of 285 orders and delivered 153 vessels. Its current order book stands at 132 ships, totaling nearly 9 million deadweight tons, with an order value exceeding 30 billion yuan ($4.43 billion) and delivery schedules extending to 2030.

Committed to developing green and intelligent technologies, Xiangyu Shipbuilding continues to deepen cooperation with industry partners. The company is building a service model integrating  shipbuilding, financial leasing and operation management, leveraging Nantong's strong shipbuilding foundation to enhance its core competitiveness.
