Oriental Wisdom, the world's first ultra-large container ship with a capacity of 24,168 twenty-foot equivalent units powered by methanol dual-fuel, was delivered by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering on June 25. 

As the world's largest ship of this kind, it has an overall length of 399.99 meters, a beam of 61.3 meters, and a depth of 33.2 meters. It has a maximum container capacity of 24,168 TEUs and a deadweight tonnage of 225,000 metric tons.  

Its core innovation is the world's largest methanol dual-fuel power system, enabling flexible switching between methanol and traditional fuel modes. By using green methanol, the vessel can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 150,000 tons annually. 

As the container ship with the largest capacity and the highest level of green intelligence in the world, Oriental Wisdom underwent rigorous testing from naming and unveiling to full-condition sea trials and official delivery. 

The ship was named on May 8 and then set sail for open seas to conduct comprehensive sea trials under realistic conditions. These trials fully verified key indicators, including the operation of the power system, stable switching between dual fuels, navigation efficiency, and hull control stability. The results showed that the ship met all performance standards with excellent results. 

Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering led the overall design, structural optimization, power integration, and development of an intelligent energy-efficiency system for the ship, achieving full control over core technologies. 

The sister vessels of the Oriental Wisdom series are also under accelerated construction by the company.
