The former residence of Bai Yayu (1868–1912) in Chongchuan district, Nantong, officially opened to the public on June 12 after meticulous restoration.

Coinciding with the opening, an exhibition on Bai's life and achievements was launched. Using detailed historical materials and diverse, multi-dimensional display methods, the exhibition recreates his remarkable life as the leader of the Xinhai Luanzhou Uprising, which was one of the key actions taken by northern China's revolutionaries to overthrow the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

The exhibition displays over 100 precious documents and visual materials. Among these are rare historical artifacts like the Chongchuan Bai Family Genealogy and the Elementary School Geography Textbook compiled by Bai.

Bai was a renowned patriotic geographer and a pioneer of the 1911 Xinhai Revolution. He taught and inspired a generation of progressive revolutionary youth, including Li Dazhao, one of the founders of the Communist Party of China, thereby contributing new forces to China's revolutionary movement.

To address the limitations of the site, the exhibition incorporates artifact replicas, scene reconstructions, and documentary screenings, providing a comprehensive experience despite the absence of large-scale real-life restorations.

In the future, the venue will regularly host educational trips for youth and themed seminars.
