Nantong claims first gold at provincial sports games

Athletes from Nantong Sports and Culture School, Jiangsu province, achieved victory in the boys' 9-year-old tennis team category at the youth division of the 21st Games of Jiangsu Province on May 11, marking the first gold medal for the Nantong delegation.

This year's provincial tennis competition, held in Lianyungang, featured 510 young tennis players from across the province. The event included six age categories, ranging from 9 to 14 years old, and comprised men's and women's singles as well as team events, totaling 24 competition categories.

As Jiangsu's largest and most prestigious sporting event, the Games of Jiangsu Province occur every four years. The current edition is set to officially take place from Oct 12 to 19 in Lianyungang and is divided into three sections: the youth division, the college division and the workers' division, with nearly 16,000 athletes and 2,500 technical officials expected to participate.
