As the Spring Festival approaches, the festive atmosphere in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is becoming increasingly animated. To cultivate a joyful and lively holiday spirit, the city has organized a series of Chinese New Year-themed events.
This year, Nantong will host more than 100 consumer promotion events, including the Second Chinese New Year Goods Supply and Marketing Fair and the 2026 Nantong Online Chinese New Year Goods Festival. Participating attendees can look forward to a variety of special discounts, such as consumer vouchers, sales on cars and home appliances, and movie vouchers.
The city plans to distribute 5 million yuan ($718,990) in dining and retail vouchers, initiate trade-in programs for cars, home appliances, digital and smart devices, host a lottery campaign with a 1 million yuan prize pool, and introduce a series of discount policies for home purchases during the Chinese New Year.
Local authorities have arranged nearly 90 cultural and tourism activities, highlighting intangible cultural heritage and performances at tourist attractions and cultural venues. These include folk parades, Chinese New Year markets, art exhibitions, night tours, and lantern shows, ensuring a vibrant celebration for everyone.
Nantong is also offering Chinese New Year cultural and tourism gift packages, with discounts available from Jan 1 to Feb 28. Recipients can enjoy half-price tickets at 12 major scenic spots across the city and receive discounts at State-owned scenic spots with a ticket stub from a large commercial performance.
