Large LNG ship Celsius Goa left PetroChina Jiangsu LNG (liquefied natural gas) Terminal in Yangkou Port, Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on June 8, after completing all gas testing operations.
The vessel was built in Nantong's Haimen district and completed gas testing in Rudong, marking the first collaboration of its kind between the two areas in the city's LNG ship industry. The project enables Nantong to provide the full process from LNG ship construction to gas testing before delivery.
The gas test is the final step before delivery. It verifies the vessel's construction quality and its ability to operate safely under actual low-temperature LNG loading conditions, ensuring that key systems and equipment function reliably.
LNG ship gas testing places stringent demands on a port's facilities and operational support capabilities. PetroChina's Jiangsu LNG Terminal, which is equipped to carry out the full gas-testing process for LNG vessels, began providing these services in November 2023.
