Overview
Founded in 1993, Chongchuan Economic Development Zone (CCEDZ) is a provincial development zone in Nantong, Jiangsu province. It is the urban area of the city, as well as its center of politics, economy, and culture. It has been dubbed as a land of fortune throughout its history. CCEDZ boasts superior transportation links, with Nantong Port having navigation lines to more than 300 ports in 100 countries and regions around the world. The Sutong, Chongqi, and Chonghai bridges help it become a transport hub connecting to Shanghai, Suzhou in Jiangsu province, and Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. CCEDZ provides complete infrastructure for enterprises in regards to power, water, gas, and steam, as well as sewage treatment plants.
Chongchuan Economic Development Zone covers a total planning area of 38.05 square kilometers in the main urban area of Nantong on the northern bank of the Yangtze River.
As a provincial economic development zone, CCEDZ's "4+2" industrial pattern focuses on the development of the two major manufacturing industries of digital information and intelligent equipment, as well as the four service industries of headquarters economy, logistics e-commerce, technology services, and financial services.
Since its establishment in 1993, CCEDZ has become a strong radiation zone of Shanghai's economic field and a dense area for foreign investment in the Yangtze River Delta area. It has been praised as "the most dynamic investment area in the Yangtze River Delta region".
