Rudong sets new record in electricity development
As of May 1, the amount of electricity generated from renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and hydro, and transmitted to the grid for consumer use in Rudong county, Nantong, has reached 100.78 billion kilowatt hours.
This makes Rudong the first county in the province to achieve an index exceeding 100 billion.
Rudong boasts unique scenery resources, with 86 kilometers of coastline, over 66,667 hectares of mudflat, and 4,555 square kilometers of sea area.
Rudong can utilize wind power for over 3,000 hours and light for over 1,200 hours each year, making it an important green power supply base in the province and even the whole country.

Since the first national wind power concession project was awarded in 2002, Rudong has gradually formed a coordinated development pattern across multiple industries, including onshore and offshore wind power, photovoltaic power generation and energy storage.
The county's vigorous development of the new energy industry has also driven improvements and upgrades to the local industrial chain. At present, Rudong has formed a complete new energy industry cluster covering equipment manufacturing, construction and installation, operation and maintenance, attracting a group of industry-leading enterprises to settle and gather.
