The output of natural gas from PetroChina Jiangsu Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal exceeded 100 billion cubic meters on April 14, boosting national energy security and high-quality economic and social development in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The terminal, located on Sunshine Island at Yangkou Port, Rudong, Jiangsu province, has six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cu m, equivalent to 432 standard swimming pools.

The liquefied gases are regasified and then fed into the Rudong branch line, which connects to the national natural gas pipeline network. This supply benefits the provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Henan, and Shandong, as well as Shanghai. At full capacity, they are sufficient to ensure to meet the gas demand of 23 million households for one month.

In addition to the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal, there are currently two stations under construction on Sunshine Island. In the long term, there are plans to build four receiving stations. By then, the island's unloading capacity will account for 10 percent of the country's total, the highest proportion in the country.
