Yangkou Port EDZ strives to drive high-quality maritime development in Jiangsu
As this year marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong county of Nantong, Jiangsu province, is stepping up efforts to position itself as a key growth engine for high-quality maritime development in the province.
It is doing this by focusing on strategic investment and project development in the core industries of new materials, new energy and new equipment.
The zone has outlined clear investment strategies for its core industries. In new materials, efforts are concentrated on enhancing existing clusters and pioneering advanced materials like nanomaterials. In the new energy sector, it leverages local resources to build large-scale new energy battery bases, establish a green methanol industry, and create new growth drivers for bio-based green fuels.
Meanwhile, in the new equipment industry, the zone is focusing on developing a heavy equipment cluster and leveraging data center projects to cultivate emerging smart computing equipment sector, driving the industry toward high-end and intelligent advancements.
