NHIZ's 1st provincial frontier tech R&D project set up
In a significant stride towards technological innovation and advancement, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Finance and Department of Science and Technology recently announced the allocation of funds for the 2024 provincial frontier technology research and development plan, with an energy storage project led by Nantong Jianghai New Energy Co, based in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (NHIZ), receiving approval.
The Nantong company specializes in the research and application of a diverse array of supercapacitors. Boasting a sophisticated infrastructure comprising eight state-of-the-art supercapacitor production lines, the company's products have found widespread applications across a spectrum of cutting-edge sectors, including new energy vehicles, wind power systems, rail transportation, smart grids, energy recovery, and large-scale energy storage solutions.
In addressing the critical challenges within the realm of grid stability, the company has taken proactive steps to tackle the intricacies of short-term high-frequency energy storage. The approved project, focusing on R&D of key technologies for high-safety sodium ion capacitors with energy-power coupling, is poised to provide indispensable technical support, facilitating optimized energy storage operations for minute-level power supplementation.
The successful implementation of this transformative project is expected to catalyze advancements within the domestic short-term high-frequency energy storage sector, positioning China as a global frontrunner in this pivotal domain.
