Zhongguancun Information Valley named as provincial-level park
The Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu recently announced its evaluation results for the software parks in the province. The Nantong-based Zhongguancun Information Valley was selected for the provincial software park cultivation list.
This park is a joint initiative between Beijing's Zhongguancun Information Valley and the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone, aiming to create a new type of science and innovation park in the Yangtze River Delta region. It focuses on attracting companies from the two major categories of digital software information and digital culture.
As of the end of 2023, the park had signed contracts with over 200 companies specializing in digital software information, science, and innovation. Among them, more than 40 are companies recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The park's output value has exceeded 1.5 billion yuan ($207.44 million), with tax revenues reaching nearly 100 million yuan.
Lei Yanli, the general manager of the park, said, "With the aggregation of the upstream and downstream industry chains and many common needs, it is beneficial for the park to build a common experimental platform in the future that everyone can share."
Going forward, the park plans to focus on improving the resilience and security level of its software industry supply chain. It will further introduce a batch of leading enterprises in the industry, aiming to create a distinctive digital software information park.
According to Lei, the park will host approximately four major competitions focused on the digital software information field in the first half of the year. "We hope that through various entrepreneurial competitions, we can better develop and elevate the industry chains in the park."
