The development of the digital cultural industry within the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has over the past few years been gathering pace quickly.
The zone is currently home to three provincial digital industrial parks – the Yangtze River Delta Network Security Industrial Park, the Digital Cultural Park and the E-sports Industrial Park - which are engaged in fields such as livestreaming e-commerce, Animation-Comic-Games (ACG), e-sport, digital equipment and digital movie and television.
One of the reasons behind the industry's rapid development is the implementation of a series of measures rolled out by the authorities in the zone. These measures include building a "one-stop" e-commerce base that is equipped with well-appointed facilities, streamlining approval procedures and releasing favorable policies to lure high-caliber talents.
Twenty-two digital cultural projects with a combined investment of 1 billion yuan ($139.9 million) have so far been launched in the zone this year.
In 2021, the combined sales revenue of digital cultural companies accounted for 28.8 percent of the total sales revenues of cultural enterprises in the zone. From January to May, 10 digital cultural companies above designated size were set up in the zone. Nine digital cultural projects were also shortlisted as important cultural projects by the city.
