Chongchuan takes steps to improve business environment
Authorities in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province have in recent years been making efforts to improve the zone's business environment.
For example, the government of the zone has selected 432 officials to offer services to 504 major enterprises based in the zone.
The officials' work includes explaining favorable policies, building platforms to promote cooperation among industries, universities and research institutes, and providing help to address challenges that enterprises are facing.
An action plan was released at a news conference on Sept 22 to open a new channel where the Party chief, the zone's head and representatives of enterprises can interact with each other instantly.
Enterprises can call (86) 18862936524 or (86) 13862936524 to report difficulties or problems they are encountering, according to the plan.
Authorities have recently also held conferences where the Party chief and the head of the zone were engaged with representatives of enterprises face to face to learn more about the difficulties enterprises are facing.
The officials have paid 760 visits to the zone's enterprises this year, distributing more than 1,200 booklets of preferential policies, giving 13 lectures to explain relevant policies to over 700 companies, and providing financial support worth 278 million yuan ($39.2 million).
Authorities have served as a bridge between enterprises and universities to sign deals for 151 projects with a combined investment of 83.64 million yuan.
Authorities have collected 562 problems from enterprises, and they have given solutions to 465 problems related to logistics transportation, loan financing and recruiting employees. They are dealing with 97 labour disputes.
