Rudong Youth Acrobatic Troupe to stage at national acrobatic competition
The 13th China Acrobatic Exhibition, once known as National Acrobatics Competition, has concluded its selection process, with the Rudong Youth Acrobatic Troupe in Rudong county in Jiangsu province making a remarkable entrance.
The original acrobatic drama The Vast Sea, The Small Sea and the acrobatic program "Reverse Walker: Ladder", both produced by the county-level acrobatic troupe, have been selected. This marks the third time in 70 years that the troupe has been put on the national stage, and notably, it is the only county-level troupe with two programs chosen.

The exhibition, to be held in Nanning and Beihai in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region this year, features eight acrobatic dramas and 45 acrobatic and magic programs from across China.
The Vast Sea, The Small Sea is a magical acrobatic drama that combines high-difficulty techniques, innovative choreography, and artistic aesthetics. Centered on marine ecological protection, it tells the adventurous story of a boy named Xiaohai and his captain father as they navigate fantastical sea realms to save marine life. The program ingeniously blends theatrical fantasy with acrobatic spectacle, incorporating 16 traditional acrobatic acts and six magical scenes.
"Reverse Walker: Ladder" fuses the "rocking ladder" and traditional "palanquin" techniques, portraying firefighters' bravery as they face danger to protect others. This act honors everyday heroes and promotes a spirit of resilience and altruism.

The troupe's success is anchored by strategic operational improvements and a robust talent development framework, both of which are reinforced by supportive local government policies and funding initiatives. This dual approach fosters a sustained environment of creativity and excellence in their performances, enabling them to continually captivate their audience.
