Summer is the best season for eating honey peaches. The 2.67-hectare peach orchard of Yuying Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative in Datong village, Rudong county of Nantong, Jiangsu province, opened for visitors on June 9.

The peach forest features five varieties including honey peaches and nectarines. They can be harvested from now until August, almost throughout the entire summer, said Yuan Weizhong, head of the cooperative.

The earliest mature peaches are mainly collected by tourists and reserved by regular customers in the surrounding area. After the fruit volume increases, they will also be sold to local fruit shops and wholesale markets in Shanghai, Jiaxing and other cities and regions.

All of the peaches are picked and shipped on the spot to ensure delivery the next morning.

Based on the current purchasing and harvesting prices, the cooperative's annual income is expected to reach around 400,000 yuan ($59,153).
