Three berths at the 100,000-metric-ton grain and oil terminal at the Henggangsha Operation Area of Nantong Port's Tiansheng Port Area have been approved for temporary operation, marking the launch of the largest specialized grain and oil terminal along the Yangtze River.
Located on the southern edge of Henggangsha in the Chengtong Reach of the Yangtze River, the terminal includes one 100,000-ton berth, one 30,000-ton berth, and seven 5,000-ton berths, with an annual designed throughput capacity of 11.5 million tons. It is also equipped with 48 concrete silos and two warehouses, with a total storage capacity of 448,000 tons.
The terminal is expected to handle 300,000 tons of copper concentrate, 800,000 tons of chemical fertilizer, and 800,000 tons of foreign trade meal per year, generating over 80 million yuan ($11.80 million) in annual revenue.
The temporary operation will improve grain and oil transshipment along the Yangtze River and strengthen Nantong Port's position as a key hub for grain and oil transport in the region.
