Tongzhou district of Nantong saw a bustling May Day holiday, receiving 253,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 17.8 percent. Its scenic spots at the AAA-level and above attracted 61,000 visitors, rising 4.9 percent year on year.

To boost tourism, attractions across the district launched a wealth of activities.

Zhouji Green Expo Garden introduced a range of new attractions, including flower-themed train rides, animal encounters, amusement activities, and dinosaur science programs.

Zhouji Menghuan Island impressed tourists with gorgeous roses and Zhuangyuan Tower. Newly arranged firework shows further enriched the travel experience.

Flower Town unveiled two themed landscapes: the Misty Forest and the Hydrangea Flower Secret Realm. It also staged song and dance performances, acrobatics shows, family-friendly activities, as well as camping and picnic experiences.

Meanwhile, Tuju RV Camping Site enriched its camping packages to include complimentary ticket upgrades, boat trips, open-air barbecues and tea gatherings.

Rural tourism also boomed. Erjia town offered hands-on blue calico printing, a local intangible cultural heritage. Dushiyuan village in Shigang town featured live music, casual coffee lounges and outdoor reading sessions for children.
