Haimen terminal excels in handling jumbo wind tower components

Nantong Dongzao Port Development, located in Haimen district of Nantong city, East China's Jiangsu province, successfully handled the shipment of the first batch of 15 goods for the massive "VESTAS Japan HiBiKi Tower" project.
It represents the largest-scale wind tower heavy component operations project of the port operating company since the Dongzao Port Terminal started working in 2012.
The project involves 75 pieces of wind turbine towers, with a total value of 176 million yuan ($24.71 million).
The Dongzao Port Terminal has now been extended into a 20,000 metric ton capacity, equipped with two 75-ton gantry cranes. With a total length of 392 meters and approach bridge 3.7 kilometers long, the terminal has a maximum berthing capacity for 50,000-ton ships.
