The construction of Nantong Shengrong digital and intelligent factory commenced in Yudong town, Haimen district, Nantong, on Oct 7, the final day of China's National holiday.

The project received a total investment of 508 million yuan ($71.88 million) by Ningbo Shengchou Optoelectronics Technology Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Ningbo Yongquan Enterprise, with investment in equipment alone exceeding 200 million yuan.

The new factory will focus on the manufacturing of products related to the low-altitude economy, such as ergonomic support frames and core structural components of intelligent robots. Upon full operation, the factory is expected to produce 250,000 sets of core components for commercial robots and 4,000 sets of long-endurance drones.

The factory is one of three projects that broke ground during China's National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7. The others include an optoelectronics project boasting a $100-million investment and a wood-plastic composite material factory backed by a substantial 500-million-yuan investment.
