International cultural exchange event in Nantong unites youth from various countries
An international cultural exchange event took place at the Wonderful Farm in Nantong's Chongchuan district, with young participants from countries like Indonesia, Pakistan, and Laos as well as nearly 100 local youth from Chongchuan taking part.
The event was part of the "Taste of Chongchuan" series, consisting of 13 cultural exchange events held in Chongchuan this year. The aim is to create a platform for interaction between Chinese and foreign youth, promote Chinese culture, and drive the integration of culture and tourism development.
During the event, Shi Yan, the fifth-generation heir of the Mei'an Guqin in Nantong, demonstrated the art of Song Dynasty tea-making, showcasing to the participants the wisdom and taste that has been passed down through centuries.
Additionally, international students from Indonesia, Pakistan, Laos, and other friendly nations presented captivating cultural performances rooted in their own cultural traditions. The energetic traditional dance "Flying High" by Indonesian students exuded an exotic charm, while a heartfelt rendition of "Jasmine Flower" also resonated with the audience, sharing a piece of Chinese culture with the world.
On the same day, an award ceremony was held to honor four establishments—Nantong Forest Safari Park, Wonderful Farm Intangible Cultural Heritage Dyeing Workshop, Ma's Palm Leaf Weaving Studio, and Jiangsu Xi'er Food Co—with the title of "Xingfu subdistrict International Cultural Exchange Hub".
