A signing ceremony for a new strategic comprehensive cooperation between Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, and Yangzhou University was held on April 11, local media reported.

The cooperation will focus on developing more talents for sectors including mechanical manufacturing and automation, agronomy, water conservancy, and clinical medicine.

Yu Lizhong, Party secretary of the CPC Hai'an committee, said at the signing ceremony that this cooperation will boost the high-quality development of both sides.

Yu noted that the cooperation aims to provide enough talents to advance the development of 10 major industries and 20 industrial chains in the county.

Ding Jianning, principle of Yangzhou University, said at the ceremony that the two sides have cooperated for a long time and have achieved fruitful results in innovative development.

He added that the university will strengthen cooperation with the county in developing more talents in various industries.  

For example, the two sides will jointly build practice bases for normal major students and launch a project to cultivate high-end talents in the field of education.

In addition, the Hai'an Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will cooperate with the Medical College of Yangzhou University to improve the capacity for scientific research for both sides.
