Livestreaming training increases employment of disabled people in Hai'an
The Hai'an Disabled Persons' Federation recently held a two-day training session on livestreaming for disabled people from March 30 to 31, local media reported.
The move is aimed at strengthening the vocational skills of disabled people and increasing their employment rate. The training session was attended by 25 disabled persons and their relatives.
During the session, two professionals talked about the advantages of marketing via livestream on social media such as Douyin, Chinese version of TikTok, and taught them how to livestream.
The teachers also gave attendees a chance to practice livestreaming using example products.
Wu Xiaoyu, who attended the training session, said that he learned a lot and would try to create short videos to promote his hand-knitting techniques.
Wu is unable to walk because of an accident and began learning hand-knitting techniques one year ago.
It was stated during the session that live-streaming e-commerce is an emerging type of entrepreneurship and is accessible to people with disabilities.
Zhang Jiaqin, president of the federation, said that the training session will encourage disabled people to challenge themselves and help them find jobs in emerging industries.
