Authorities of Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, held a special job fair for women on March 7 to celebrate International Women's Day, local media reported.

During the job fair, more than 40 enterprises offered over 1,000 jobs, and 120 people signed tentative agreements with companies.

The fair offered job positions for both young college graduates and job seekers with high education levels and rich work experience, according to the district human resources and social security bureau, one of the organizers of the event.

In addition, the event also provided service-oriented jobs for older women.

The job fair is part of the district's efforts to boost employment.

Officials said they will launch more job fairs and enhance talent introduction measures to boost the high-quality development of the district.
