The Hai'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, made the list of the 2022 provincial demonstration areas for intellectual property rights on Dec 2, local media reported.

The provincial recognition is a result of the county's effort to drive the development of its intellectual property rights sector in recent years.

As of the end of May, the county had 2,234 valid invention patents, with the ownership of invention patents reaching 65.01 per 10,000 people.

The patents from Hai’an won four China Patent Excellence Awards and three Jiangsu Patent Excellence Awards.

The county also has seven famous Chinese trademarks. The ownership of valid registered trademarks in Hai'an currently stands at 6375.02 per 10,000 enterprises.

Hai'an is currently home to three national model enterprises of IPRs and two national-level enterprises that excel in this field.
