Economic, technological zone makes strong progress
The Hai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has made remarkable progress over the past decade, local media reported.
The zone's GDP in 2012 was 11.34 billion yuan (($1.56 billion), while in 2021 it was nearly 31.4 billion yuan, accounting for 36 percent of the economic aggregate in Hai'an.
The modern textile industry is the zone's leading industry, with a total output of 33.23 billion yuan.
The zone has also established an industrial park for the photovoltaic industry, which has introduced more than 40 leading enterprises in the industry.
In addition, the robot industrial park located in the zone has also attracted 15 projects costing over 100 million yuan and has established eight robot research institutes by teaming up with universities.
There are currently more than 368 above-designated-size enterprises and 133 over-100-million-yuan enterprises in the zone. The number of high-tech enterprises in the zone has reached 128.
In addition, 14 projects in the zone have made the list of provincial key projects.
The zone has also established an industrial park for trade logistics. The warehouse in the zone designated by Hai'an Customs as a storage facility for imported meat products recently completed its first transaction.
