Haimen takes measures to boost employment
Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has since the beginning of this year implemented a series of measures to provide more jobs to local residents.
For example, authorities have rolled out new ways of recruitment, including holding online and nighttime job fairs, to help people find jobs.
To date, the district has hosted more than 100 online and offline job fairs that had 36,000 job positions on offer.
The district has also held a host of activities during the winter and summer holidays to explain its favorable policies to students who were born in the city. This move is aimed at encouraging them to return to their hometown to work or start businesses.
The district welcomed over 6,400 graduates from across the country this year. It also distributed subsidies worth 25.6 million yuan ($3.58 million) to them.
In addition, the district has provided training, financial support, office spaces and tax relief policies to encourage more people to start businesses.
