China might not have qualified for the World Cup, but the nation nevertheless has a presence at the major sporting event due to the contributions of many Chinese companies.
For instance, Haimen-based Shanghai Steel Structure Construction (Jiangsu) Co Ltd was among the parties involved in the construction of the Education City Stadium, one of the stadiums used to host the soccer matches.
Dubbed "a diamond in the desert", the stadium will host eight matches during the World Cup.
The company was mainly responsible for structural designs, 3D modeling, manufacturing of steel structure products and field installation.
The company had also established a special team consisting of engineers from several countries, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines and Thailand, who played an important role in the construction process.
In addition, the company used digital technologies to ensure the installation was done successfully.
