The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently announced the seventh list of national key leading enterprises for agricultural industrialization. Jiangsu Tiancheng Group, located in the county-level city of Hai'an in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was the only firm from Nantong to make the list, according to the Nantong agricultural and rural affairs bureau.

Founded in 1989, Tiancheng Group is a comprehensive enterprise integrating feed processing, poultry breeding, chicken hatching, hen breeding, egg marketing, and deep processing. The firm is also involved in the production of organic fertilizer and scientific research and development.

In recent years, the group has formed a unique development mode to help farmers earn more money through the planting of raw materials used to make animal feed and the breeding of hens.

The company has previously cooperated with a scientific research team led by Professor Wu Zhenlong from China Agricultural University. The partnership achieved great breakthroughs in developing low-protein daily rations for laying hens, which has enabled protein materials worth over 50 million yuan ($7.82 million) to be saved.

The technology has since been promoted and applied in the feed industry throughout the province, bringing widespread social and economic benefits.
