Local growers have been working to improve the taste of pears by updating fruit varieties and leveraging new technology and equipment.
The orchards boast many advantages, such as good ventilation, low humidity and sufficient daylight.
Hai'an has also established long-term partnerships with technical institutes such as the College of Horticulture of Nanjing Agricultural University and the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences to provide technical support to local farmers.
