Hai'an construction group provides labor for its project in Israel
More than 280 workers from Nantong City Daxin Engineering Co Ltd – based in the county-level city of Hai'an in East China's Jiangsu province – took a chartered plane to Israel from Shanghai Pudong International Airport on March 17 to go and help out with its project there.
After a centralized isolation of more than half a month, the workers will be assigned to work in the Israel branch of Daxin.
The chartered flight strictly implemented novel coronavirus discipline and epidemic prevention and control requirements. The workers were vaccinated and underwent training before going abroad and Daxin also provided each employee with an anti-epidemic health package, as well as other drugs and materials.
It is the second time that the company has dispatched workers to Israel by chartered plane, following the deployment of nearly 180 workers there on Aug 28. In recent years, Daxin has been actively responding to national moves to global and the Belt and Road Initiative, vigorously developing its international project contracting business. Since 2016, it has sent nearly 100 workers abroad on average every year.
Israel opened up its domestic housing construction market and invited bids for projects from leading international contractors in 2017.
Over the past two years, six Chinese construction enterprises have been shortlisted there, including Daxin. Meanwhile, it is understood that this is the first time that Hai'an's construction companies have entered the market in developed countries.
