Rudong county in Nantong signed an investment agreement with Dongfang Electric Wind Power Co Ltd (DEC) and China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co Ltd on Dec 29 for construction of an advanced equipment manufacturing industrial park in the Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone.

Under Dongfang Electric Corporation, DEC specializes in the wind power industry and focuses on product upgrading and industry development through technology innovation.

China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co Ltd is a carrier of the new energy business of China Three Gorges Corporation. Targeted at being a leader in the offshore wind power industry, China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co Ltd is accelerating its construction in the industry.

Chen Huiyu, head of Rudong, introduced the county's economic and social development, as well as its long-term plan during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). He said that Rudong has abundant offshore wind power resources and has the only domestic wind power home port with conditions suitable for all-weather large-scale offshore wind power equipment transportation.

Tripartite cooperation is conducive to the rapid construction of industrial clusters, vigorously promotes the continuous expansion and strengthening of the offshore wind power industry chain, and promotes the common development of the local economy and enterprises.

He Jianhua, chairman of DEC, said in a speech that DEC has high expectations for Rudong's resources and unique advantages. He hopes to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange with the county.
