The Industry Match on High-end Equipment and Intelligent Manufacturing of the fifth Qichuang Cup Entrepreneurship Competition ended in Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province on Sept 5.

Sponsored by the Qidong municipal Party committee and government, the entrepreneurship competition aims to attract superior talents and projects to settle in Qidong and promote industrial transformation and upgrading in the city through open selection.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition initiatively adopted a new mode integrating online and offline. Those contestants unable to compete on-site communicated by video link.

Focusing on the industries of high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing, 30 contestants from home and abroad demonstrated their startup projects via a road show and open replies made at the competition site.

After fierce competition, two projects – research and development and industrialization of intelligent robots with two coordinated arms, as well as complete sets of technology and equipment for non-stop safety protection against ground faults in distribution networks – stood out and won the first prize.

"I'm excited to get the first prize and thank Qidong for providing an opportunity for us," said Zeng Xiangjun, a first prize winner and recipient of a National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. "With a favorable location, Qidong is superior in fields such as electronics, computers, machinery and intelligent manufacturing. It is a good platform for entrepreneurship."

In addition to the bonus, the projects that won first, second, and third prizes are eligible to enter the Qichuang Cup finals. Those settling in Qidong within one year can also receive corresponding policy support and preferential services.
