The Industry Match on Big Ocean of the fifth Qichuang Cup Entrepreneurship Competition ended in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on Aug 8. Fang Bo, vice mayor of Qidong, attended the event.
Sponsored by the Qidong municipal Party committee and government, the entrepreneurship competition is aimed at promoting public innovation and stimulating entrepreneurial vitality.
Centering on talents in advanced manufacturing, the competition attracted 18 participating projects in areas such as marine environmental monitoring, marine fisheries and equipment, marine biomedicine and smart ports.
At the site, an official from the Qidong talent office introduced the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship in the city from the perspectives of development opportunities, regional advantages, urban environment, industrial bases and talent policies.
The contestants demonstrated their startup projects and teams via statements, answering experts' questions and other links. After fierce competition, a project on the design and manufacturing of unmanned triphibian aircrafts stood out and won the first prize.
"I have been admiring Qidong for a long time in that it is the best location for my project," said first prize winner Pan Yipeng."The competition provides an opportunity for me."
According to Pan, the operation of the project was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He learned that the supporting facilities of the shipbuilding industry in Qidong are very complete, as are the parts, suppliers and upstream and downstream industrial chains required for the project.
In addition to the bonus, the projects that have won the first, second, and third prizes can directly enter the Qichuang Cup finals. Those to settle in Qidong within one year can also receive corresponding policy support and considerate services.
