A series of nighttime activities, including a bazaar themed around intangible cultural heritage items, was held on North Street in Gangzha district, Nantong on May 29. The activities will last for about one month.
The bazaar is a cultural brand created by the city in 2019. It is expected to lead to a deeper integration of intangible cultural heritage items and tourism.
During the opening ceremony, nearly 40 municipal cultural items and several national-level items from around the Yangtze River Delta region were on display.
Huang Weifeng, secretary of Gangzha district's Party committee, tried out some tasty food and purchased some cultural products at the bazaar. He said that the district has a solid industrial foundation for developing the nighttime economy and has gathered some strong business areas.
Visitors can try out local food, go shopping, participate in exercises, and read books on North Street at night, and nine major commercial centers have worked together to provide people with a lively nighttime experience.
The "North Street's business alliance" was also unveiled that same day.
