Tongzhou company charters buses to retrieve workers from Gansu
A total of 90 employees working at the Hongbang Die Casting (Nantong) Co, based in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, were picked up in Northwest China's Gansu province on Feb 23.
In order to ensure everything goes smoothly as the company resumes work, four buses were chartered to help workers in the counties of Hezheng and Kangle in Gansu province return to work. Each bus had three drivers, which allowed them to drive in turns.
The buses traveled nearly 4,000 kilometers in total, passing through five provinces, including Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu. They stopped at planned sites along the route, and workers all sat separately, with only 50 percent of seats occupied.
Everyone on the buses had their temperature taken every two hours. Luckily, no one was found to be running a fever throughout the course of the trip.
As a growing number of people return to work, the Tongzhou Bus Terminal has been gradually returning to normal since Feb 24. Infrared intelligent devices have been installed on the walls in the bus terminal to take passengers' temperatures.
The device can take the temperatures of several people at the same time within a three-meter radius, which not only improves efficiency, but increases safety by limiting human-to-human contact. Ticket entrances have also been equipped with handheld thermometers to ensure that no passenger is missed.
