Chen Yijun, owner of a yoga studio in Rudong county – in Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – gave a live broadcast of a yoga course on Feb 6, encouraging residents to exercise while staying at home for the control of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

A total of 38 females participated in the course online and national-level yoga coach Zhou Yaoyao was invited to set an example for the participants and gave guidance during the live broadcast.

"The coach teaches well and this yoga course helps us do some exercise at home instead of lying on the bed for the whole day," said one of participant.

After the 45-minute course, participants all left messages to express their praise.

Doing yoga can help people get their bodies moving, facilitate blood circulation and keep themselves in high spirits, a prospect that has encouraged more and more people to take up the exercise.

Chen now gives five yoga courses every day and has attracted over 100 residents.
