The family of Li Xilian, a police officer in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, safely completed a 14-day quarantine period at home Feb 4.
To spend the Spring Festival holiday together, Li's parents flew to Rudong from Yichang, Hubei province, Jan 19.
Several days later, Li and her husband learned about the seriousness of the coronavirus outbreak in Hubei province and became concerned, as they had no idea whether their parents had had close contact with virus carriers. They reported the situation at once.
Luckily, Li's parents had no symptoms and had been looking after their son at home since they arrived. The whole family was asked to stay at home for the quarantine period.
Li said she was concerned about the family's health during the quarantine and heart-warming messages from her work colleagues and community workers helped relieve her worries.
Fresh vegetables, face masks and other basic supplies were sent regularly to support their daily life. Li's colleagues also gave timely help when hearing that her father didn't have enough hypotension drugs with him.
