A signing ceremony for Nantong's second Sam's Club store, which is expected to be built in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, was held in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, on Aug 12.

Covering an area of 65 mu (4.3 hectares), the project is backed by about 500 million yuan ($74.39 million) and is scheduled to open by the end of 2028. Once operational, it is expected to create about 500 jobs and generate annual sales exceeding 2 billion yuan.

The new club is set to bring high-end membership retail to NETDA for the first time, giving residents a major shopping option with better products and greater convenience.

This expansion builds on the strong performance of Nantong's first Sam's Club, which opened in 2018. That store has drawn large crowds and posted year-on-year revenue growth, providing a solid business case for the second location.
