NETDA digital culture industry booms
The digital culture industry in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) welcomed three key agreements in early 2026, marking a strong push for high-quality development through the deep integration of "culture + technology".
The projects include the 500-million-yuan ($72.5-million) Nantong Digital Culture Innovation and Development Investment Fund, the Nantong base for Shangxiang Entertainment Group, and the Zhongguancun Information Valley AI Industrial Park, injecting capital, content, and intelligent momentum into the industry.
In March 2025, NETDA hosted a digital culture industry promotion conference in Beijing, attracting nearly 200 enterprises and resulting in 10 project agreements, thereby strengthening the foundation of its industry cluster, the Nantong Digital Culture (Video) Industrial Park.

As a key provincial project, the park focuses on six main areas, including long and short video production, creative talent training, video technology application, and digital copyright trading.
The park integrates 150,000 square meters of building resources to establish a smart review platform for online dramas, significantly reducing the production and distribution cycle for enterprises. It also revitalizes 200,000 square meters of space and 300 mu (20 hectares) of industrial land to attract tech companies such as Alibaba and Lohua Chip-Display to set up operations.
NETDA aims to build a national-level digital culture industry base during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). By 2029, its digital culture industry plans to host over 30 leading enterprises and over 200 other companies, achieving a core annual business revenue in excess of 20 billion yuan and driving revenue of more than 30 billion yuan in the related industrial chain.
